This company is not what it appears to be!!!!! Be very cautious!!!!

Fay Cullen is not what it appears to be. They use bad sales tactics and fib about the quality of diamonds they sell. Be very cautious if you go through this company. Elizabeth uses her words very carefully when she sells the product. The return policy
is a joke and the one year warranty they offer, means nothing. We found out the hard way. The diamond was not the quality they told us, the original setting did not have a diamond in it, as the ring broke and the insurance company took over. The only thing
that saved us from not being completely ripped off was the insurance I added on the ring as soon as it arrived. To be clear- this was through my insurance company and not Fay Cullen. When I phoned Fay Cullen to talk to them about the quality of the diamond
and the poor setting it was put in, they simply said, you should have purchased Fay Cullen's insurance. When I inquired about the warranty, they brushed it off. They have two stores. I learned my lesson the hard way. Nothing about this company is accurate.
The appraisals they give on the ring are absurd and hold no value. If you buy a certified ring from them they use a company known for having loose standards on grading values. After the fact I learned an HRD, or GIA certification rate a diamond to its true
quality. BUYER BEWARE.

Below is the email sent to our customer by Fay Cullen on 7.07.12 offering a full refund or a credit of $1040 upon verification. Customer understandably refused to return his robust original Victorian EGL certified (EGL Cert.#US60364501D - http://www.eglusa.com/verify-a-report-results/?st_num=60364501D) cushion-cut diamond ring (http://www.faycullen.com/_pics/800/hjl1211r1d/6.jpg).
I'm very sorry but much as we covet our 5 Trustlink Gold Stars, we value our integrity more and steadfastly refuse to succumb to extortion. We do however, highly value this opportunity to provide potential customers the transparency they demand and deserve and we honor their determination to unearth the truth. It is not the policy of FC.com to issue random credits to satisfy competing jewelers.
"Dear Anthony,
Since I purchase the diamond un-weighed, since EGL made the weight calculation and since the grade of the diamond is so high, rather that reduce the price further, I can offer a full refund Anthony since I would be unable to replace the diamond at the value to which you are suggesting.
Should you opt to accept the original offer of $1040, you will be required to return the diamond and the ring intact to FCI for verification purposes.
