Moving is a nightmare but having movers definitely helps. It's always surprising to realize how much stuff you've accumulated over the years and who has time to go through it all before you move?
They brought the van, boxes, wrapping paper, tape and plastic wrap. They wanted their used wardrobe boxes back so the move also involved dumping the contents of these at the new place. Extra medium size boxes were $2 each. The price was very reasonable, 2 people (and the van) for just $70/hour of hard labor.
The boxes weren't labeled, so it's going to be an ongoing challenge to figure out where things are. A few things were broken. They also dismantled some furniture that I can't reassemble till I figure out where the parts are. I've already unpacked quite a few boxes and I still can't find those pieces.
The front office was friendly and professional. The movers, both Chinese, arrived a bit late. Communication was a struggle. One guy who liked to smoke all the time could barely speak any English. The other had a better grasp of it.
