Review 10/21/2009

I had been referred to the law office of Eric T. Smith through another company called AccuMark Solutions, they help you find someone to take your loan modification case. I saw that the law office was accredited through the BBB and had an A+ rating and decided to go with them. After sending in all required paperwork and information they needed along with a Bank Certified Money Order for $2,500.00, they did not want a personal check, things were going fine and there was good communication via phone and email. The person I was dealing with her name was Wendy Than. Then about 2 1/2 months ago communication stopped. I had heard from Wendy maybe twice in this period. No replys back from email that I have sent and all numbers have been disconnected. There was one that worked, it was an answering service but still no response back. Now I have rechecked the BBB and a few other sites and others are having the same problems with this law office as I am. Also I found something else online stating that as of October 11 2009 it is ILLEGAL in the state of California for anyone including lawyers to collect on advance for loan modifications. A website given was www.leginfo.ca.gov and click on "Bill Information". There is also another site sos.ca.gov/vcfcf it is "Victims of Corporate Fraud Compensation Fund". All I want is to be compensated back and for this negative information on this Law Office to been seen by many so others do not get scammed by them.
