Review 1/6/2011
On June 17, 2009 Meadows Transmission re-built my transmission charging $1,599.28. In the fall of 2010, the car began acting odd; lunging backwards when in reverse, quitting out on me at stop lights and just not running right. On December 6, 2010 I took the car back to Meadows. They replaced a speed sensor which didn't help at all, told me it wasn't his re-built transmission but it was the motor (although the computer was telling him a 700 code which means transmission), and sent me on my way. It is now at another transmission mechanic and I've been told the torque converter Meadows replaced blew and then threw metal all into the transmission. So, now, I'm having it re-built for the 2nd time. On January 6, 2011, I called Charlie Meadows (owner) and told him what was going on and that I would appreciate him helping out even though I knew it was out of warranty...but felt like he should do SOMETHING since he messed up in December 2010. He said I WILL NOT DO ANYTHING. You should have brought it back to me if you had a problem. I explained to him again, that I did and had to remind him of the speed sensor that didn't really need replaced and how he told me it was the "motor" and not "his" re-built transmission. I told Charlie Meadows that we keep our attorney on retainer and if need be, I'll see him in small claims court. He then told me bring every lawyer you want...I don't care! Then hung up on me. Even the current mechanic has said Meadows should have helped at least by giving money towards the converter through the warranty...but Charlie stated..."if I do that...and you take me to court...I lose"! I'm sorry, but that is no way to run a business. He is not living up to his end of the deal and this is a terrible man. I wouldn't recommend him to anyone for any reason. Other mechanics in this area that I've talked to have informed me of having to "go back and fix his problems" with his work. If I could give 0 stars I would do that!
