Don't trust Preferred Glass & Windows in Simi Valley. This is our experience with this company.
1. The installer missed one screw on our 8*5 window installation. This is against the Simonton window installation guide. Then we caught the installer cheat on another window. He put on three sides of the window without sealing the gap between the window frame and the new windows with foam.
2. Sealing this gap with foam is the standard practice for all the window installation. This company demonstrates how they put the foam in their demonstration room. But they do not follow their own specification. We had them reopened the trim for the two windows. The foam was missing around the two shims for the first window, and the foam was missing on 25% of the place on the second window. Then they refused to open the trims for the other 6 windows for inspection.
3. They don't follow their promises. They promised to clean after the work was done. I had to beg, then fight for the installers to clean the stains and glue on the new windows. They promised to take care of all the problems before we sighed up with them. Now they refused the open the trims to inspect the windows when we found out the job was not done according to their own specification. Without the proper installation, how do you expect these windows to last years and years.
