I did go through with the refinance eventually, and everything turned out OK, but I had several issues before I finally got there. Emails and phone calls were not returned, with various silly excuses. There were hidden fees, an exorbitant origination fee.
They kept saying something would be happening the next day, then I wouldn't hear from them for 2 weeks. The original interest rate that I was quoted was not the one they worked up for me. I was told the whole process would take 10 days and it ended up taking
about 45. I was afraid I was going to lose my rate lock. The person I was working with seem incompetent, probably just a middle man telemarketer type, not a real finance person. After all the time and hassle, I just went through with it, I was too beaten down
and exhausted to look elsewhere, and would have lost the money for the appraisal. Now, they have sold my mortgage to a bank that has terrible reviews, so the saga continues....I did get a good rate, however!
