After 2 other animal clinics suggested that my dog's symptoms didn't sound bad enough to warrant a late-night emergency visit, the VCA receptionist said she had heard those words herself before and her dog ended up dying. Those scare tactics got me to visit their clinic much to my huge regret. They insisted on xrays and because they couldn't determine anything from the xrays, recommended that they keep him over night for observation while giving him morphine drips! I was astonished. My dog was in mild pain and certainly not in need of a strong, addictive drug like that. They never figured out what was wrong with him, but he was perfectly fine the next day, so it was most likely acid reflux. I feel their recommendations were way out of line (dangerous) and despite never figuring out what was wrong with him charged me $430 for the visit and xrays. The were only concerned about the money in my opinion. Stay away!
