I have been a member of this credit union since 2005 Until recently have had a good relationship with them. As is with this current economy I have found myself out of work for quite some time now and had fallen a month or so behind on my auto loan. I had previously told them of my situation basically as soon as I was laid off and was concerned about this scenerio, Yet at that time I was current and was told there was no program for someone in a hardship position. I was told they could basically not do anything until the loan had gone to collections. So here I am a year later ,2 months behind and appearently in collections (although I was never told this). Now recieving calls about when I can make a payment and how they are going to "work" with me. I have been informed that they went into my bank account which is a different bank and stole the amount of 1 months payment along with a Western Union fee of $12 without my consent. This is among the worst tactics I have ever seen. Forcing me to close my checking account which I have had for almost 2 decades in fear of them doing this again and sending me into overdraft(s) and concurrent fees. I did not put myself in this position and have done all I can to keep up with this loan drainning my savings first then my checking account just to pay for a car I can no longer afford. I regret to say that I would never do buisness with Visterra Credit Union again and feel violated by their proceedures.
